Corrections, questions about where a rule comes from, and everything else.
Messages are read by a person. A straightforward reply usually takes a day or two. Anything requiring us to go and confirm a rule at a registry takes as long as that takes, and we would rather answer late than answer wrongly.
Corrections get priority
A wrong rule on this site sends somebody down an expensive road, so a correction jumps the queue. Tell us which page, what you believe is wrong with it, and where the authoritative version lives. We go and look. Where you are right the page changes and carries the date it changed.
What we cannot do
- Tell you whether your name is safe to use. That needs someone who can see your market, your goods and the registers, and who can take responsibility for the answer. A trademark attorney, not us.
- Search on your behalf. The pages here explain how to search; we do not run searches for people or review results.
- Recommend a particular lawyer or attorney. Taking referral fees would compromise the one thing this site is for, so we take none — which also means there is no list for us to hand you.
- Value or broker a domain. We do not deal in names.
If you are selling something
Placements, sponsored posts, guest articles and link insertions are all declined, without exception and without reply. So are partnership approaches from law firms, brand consultancies and domain brokers. The funding page sets out what does support the site, which is the only commercial relationship it has.
