Using this site means accepting what follows. The short version: the checks are informational, they can be wrong or out of date, and the decision about a name remains yours.
What this site is
An informational tool. It queries public domain registries, applies published naming rules, and links to official registers. It does not provide legal advice, trademark clearance, or an opinion on whether any name is safe for you to use, and nothing on it creates a professional relationship of any kind.
Accuracy, and its limits
We take care to get this right and correct mistakes when they are pointed out. We cannot guarantee it. Registry policies change without notice, registers lag, and a lookup reflects a moment in time. In particular:
- A domain reported as unregistered may still be unavailable to you, priced as premium, reserved, or in a redemption window.
- A domain reported as registered may become available shortly afterwards.
- An “unknown” result means a registry did not answer clearly, and carries no implication either way.
- Sensitive-word flags match on words and cannot account for context, so they will sometimes flag a name that is perfectly acceptable.
- No check here addresses trademark conflict, and the absence of a warning is not the absence of a conflict.
Decisions are yours
Choosing a name is a commercial and legal decision with consequences we cannot see and do not share. Verify anything that matters at source, and take professional advice before committing money to a name. To the fullest extent the law permits, we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on this site — including a name that turns out to be unavailable, unregistrable, or in conflict with someone else's rights.
Acceptable use
The lookup service is rate-limited and intended for people checking names they are considering. Automated bulk querying, scraping, or use that degrades the service for others is not permitted, and neither is reselling the results as your own service.
Links out
Nearly every reference page here sends you to a registry, a register or a government resource, because checking at source is the entire method. Those destinations belong to other organisations. What they publish, whether they stay reachable, and what they do with your visit are outside our control and outside our responsibility.
Changes
When these terms change, the version on this page changes with them and the date below moves. We do not notify anyone. If a revision is not acceptable to you, stopping use of the site is the way to decline it.
